Since you’re a Moon Druid, the CR is fine, but the swim speed means you can’t wild shape into it until at least Druid 4. there’s a table out there for everything, I’m sure.Ī Giant Octopus is a CR 1 beast with a swim speed. Only playable by pure DM fiat not even close to practical.
Giant octopus 5e plus#
I know it's not 4 Great Axes, but this build is mostly rules conforming and a dual Great Axe wielding Giant Octopus would be terrifying plus would still have 4 remaining tentacles to move on land or in water. Note that it does take a bonus action to swap so either start combat as a Giant Octopus or double attack on your 2nd turn.ĭefinitely speak to your DM about it, but it's possible to cast Call Lightning, shape shift, then use an attack action and Call Lightning bonus action on each subsequent turn so it shouldn't be too big of a power spike. After which use your bonus action (since the tentacle attack is only an action) to make an off-handed Great Axe attack. You can then use your action to make an Great Axe attack (the regular tentacle attack action is 2d6 so swapping it for an arguably less effective 1d12 attack with no grapple rider shouldn't be a problem). When you wild shape into a Giant Octopus you'll have 8 tentacles and use 2 to wield each Great Axe since the axes have the 2-handed property.
Giant octopus 5e full#
I would say just go full Moon Druid as a Variant Human, then pick up the Weapon Master feat at level 1 to get proficiency in Great Axes. r/DnD /r/rpg /r/Pathfinder_RPG /r/tabletop /r/UnearthedArcana /r/DnDHomebrew /r/dndnext r/characterdrawing /r/Imaginar圜haracters /r/alternativeart On-Topic Subreddits
